Phillips Pavillion, a state-of-the-art, covered outdoor facility with a regulation-sized high school court, was named in recognition of Elliott and the late Sue Phillips for their gift to Floyd County Parks and Recreation, making the structure possible. Elliott is a longtime real estate developer in Southern Indiana and based in New Albany.

Following a brief dedication ceremony, Phillips Pavillion hosted its first-ever basketball action on Saturday morning, which featured fourth-grade boys’ players from Floyd County and beyond. Team Recreation (Green) was coached by IUS men's basketball head coach, Wiley Brown. Team Parks (Red) was coached by New Albany High School head boy's basketball coach, Jim Shannon.
